Today, there are multiple injectable treatments on the market for you to use to get a more youthful, refreshed appearance. The Radiesse injectable wrinkle treatment is great for mild to moderate lines and wrinkles throughout the face and for fixing age-related volume loss in the hands. It can improve smile lines, marionette lines, pre-jowl folds, chin wrinkles, and lines on the edges of the mouth. Radiesse is also designed to treat age-related volume loss in the hands to help them appear fuller and younger looking. Radiesse wrinkle injections take place in one of the treatment rooms at Renew Beauty Med Spa & Wellness Center in about 30 – 60 minutes after the consultation. To start the procedure, you will lie down comfortably while the areas of injection will be cleaned and marked. Most patients feel tolerable discomfort during their treatment at the initial prick, but if preferred, a local anesthetic may be spread on the injection sites. The dosage of Radiesse, determined at your personalized treatment planning session, will be prepared in an ultra-fine syringe. The marked injection sites will help the injector to carefully administer Radiesse into the needed areas. As soon as the procedure is done, a cold compress will be applied to help reduce swelling and bruising.
What to Expect
After your Radiesse injection, you may see mild bruising, redness, and swelling. This is common and should only last for about 5 – 10 days. These side effects can usually be camouflaged with makeup. If the side effects last longer or seem excessive, please do not hesitate to call Renew Beauty Med Spa & Wellness Center. Most patients see some results minutes after the treatment with better results developing over time. Your face should appear younger, softer, and lifted. Radiesse tends to last longer than some of the other fillers, about 1 – 2 years. You should talk to a member of our team during your consultation about when to schedule your next treatment to maintain your results.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does Radiesse cost?
The cost of Radiesse is dependent on the number of syringes needed to achieve your desired outcome. During your consultation at our practice, we will discuss your expected results and determine the amount needed to achieve them. We will also discuss your out-of-pocket costs for your treatment.
How does Radiesse compare to other fillers?
Fillers, such as Radiesse, are considered temporary, even though the results may last up to a full year. Common filler procedures include collagen, calcium hydroxyapatite, hyaluronic acid, polylactic acid, and the heaviest of the fillers, PMMA. Radiesse is the only dermal filler composed of calcium-based microspheres, which are comparable to hyaluronic acid injectable fillers due to the natural ability to stimulate collagen production. During your consultation, we will discuss the various fillers and evaluate your facial tone, laxity, and volume levels to help you decide which filler may be the best choice for you.
What are the possible side effects of Radiesse?
Severe and/or abnormal side effects are rare with Radiesse. Immediately following treatment, patients may experience mild redness, bruising, numbness, and/or itching. These are temporary side effects that usually disappear within a day or two.
What other procedures can I combine with Radiesse?
Radiesse injections can be performed in combination with other injectable treatments to help you achieve your ideal results. Many patients combine dermal fillers, such as Radiesse, with BOTOX or other muscle relaxants to create an overall younger-looking appearance. Talk to us during your consultation to learn more about other procedures that can be combined with Radiesse.
Are Radiesse injections painful?
Typically, patients do not need any form of numbing prior to their injection treatment. However, a local anesthetic can be provided if you are worried about any discomfort. Most patients only experience slight discomfort during the actual injections.
