Kybella®

What is Kybella®?

Kybella® is a manufactured form of deoxycholic acid (a naturally occurring material that helps the body absorb fat) that destroys the fat cells contributing to double chins. Kybella® injections mimic the body’s natural fat-absorption process so that you can skip liposuction.

When will I see results?

Kybella® begins to take effect immediately after it is injected. However, it will take some time for your results to become apparent. Because Kybella® relies on your body’s natural ability to process and eliminate damaged fat cells, it can take a few weeks for the treated cells to be flushed out. Therefore, most patients see visible results 6 to 12 weeks after treatment.

How long do results from Kybella® last?

Once Kybella® destroys fat cells, they are gone forever.

How long is each treatment?

We will create a custom treatment plan based on your chin profile and aesthetic goals. At each treatment, you will receive multiple small injections under your chin. Kybella® treatments typically take about 15 to 20 minutes.

Is there downtime after a Kybella® treatment?

Downtime after treatment is minimal. Most patients can return to work and their normal activities within 24 to 48 hours of the treatment. Some experience mild side effects, like temporary swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness, and areas of hardness in the treatment area. These subside within a few weeks after your treatment.
